Child, Arise!
After completing the book cover, the project was extended to develop an eCommerce website – an independent digital outlet for the public to purchase the book direct from the author.
The brief to design the cover was initially to focus on the darkness victims of this distressing topic face on a daily basis. We decided some way through development the need to shift the visual to positive outcomes, the destination rather than the origin point. Light and symbols of ‘life restored’ were combined with a hand painted font to highlight the child inside. The cover is a matte painting derived from an original image of a mother and child making waves on a coastal shoreline.
